At long last I’m delighted to be able to say that the Worms are now available. As befits a race whose expertise lies in genetic manipulation their vehicles show a mix of organic and non-organic technology, and while they may not be as speedy, or as varied as their Human or Centaur counterparts, they more than make up for it in their toughness and firepower.

The worm infantry come in two varieties - the standard warrior Class, roughly the same size and bulk as a Human, and the specialised giant Sapper class, specially bred for tunneling and boring through the toughest ground and often to be found at the forefront of underground assaults on enemy
positions.

All the codes are available with immediate effect and we’ll have the range with us at all UK shows starting with Partizan at Newark on September 7th.
Even now devilish rules for the worms are being added to the next version of Command Horizon which will also include details of the background to this race and the horrifying consequences to all races of its constant need for expansion and conquest.

Yes, after months of waiting, we’ll soon have the Worms available and ready to infest a planetary surface near you. We’re just working on the last few moulds, but in the long held tradition of taunting you all by showing you the (currently) unobtainable, here’s a couple of shots of what you can expect to see from us:

A base of self-propelled artillery…

And a couple of shots of the standard worm ‘infantry’.
There’ll be more to come soon, so keep watching the Command Horizon site for details.

Continuing the expansion of the CH range we’ve added some heavyweight Aerospace models for both the Humans and the Centaurs.
The Humans get the sleek Fighter Bomber, pictured here armed to the teeth with the contents of the Aerospace Weapons Sprue.

In a spirit of even-handedness, the Centaurs are now reinforced with their own Bomber, built along the usual functional, some would say, brutal, Centaur design standards.
And to keep them in the Arms Race we’ve added a Centaur Aerospace Weapons Sprue. Here’s what these look like when added to a trio of Centaur Fighters.

I know that lots of you have been waiting for the release of the next race in the CH Universe. The good news is that mould making is in full swing, so it won’t be too long now. There are some very ‘interesting’ models in this range and I’m sure the Worms will be making an appearance on a wargames table near you…

It’s taken a bit longer than I wanted, but at long last I’m pleased to announce that the Human Support Weapons are now available.

Each pack contains a mixture of two types of support weapon base…

Infantry support launcher
and…

Infantry support gatling.
These can be ordered directly from the cart or you can pick them up at the Partizan show in Newark on the 25th June. We’ll have the full range with us at the show, but if you want to place a pre-order for collection there, now is the time to let us know!

I’m very pleased to announce that the latest update to the Command Horizon rules are now available for free download. There have been some significant changes from version 4.0:
In response to customer feedback and playtesting, the move sequence has been made interactive. The reacting player can now play Reaction
Command Points during his opponent’s Action phase.
The Sky combat mechanics have been greatly improved making them simpler. All Skimmers and Skycraft are now based singly, resulting in more flexible tactical use. Aerospace Ordnance adds a whole new dimension to Aerospace craft.
Light Walkers are now based in threes.
The addition of rules for Infantry Support Weapons makes infantry tactics much more interesting.
The combination of these changes will make the games much more free-flowing, but will require more thought from the players.

It’s that time of year again and once I’ve finished typing this we’ll be loading the trade stand and stock ready for the biggest show on the UK wargaming schedule. We’ll have plenty of CH stock and some very pretty bases on display for you look at.
It’s been a bit quiet here of late as Igor and myself have been fully committed with the release of a new set of rules for the Baccus Historical ranges. To tide you over, Salute will see the official release of the redesigned Human infantry.

Currently there are two codes - one for stood and one for kneeling and prone figures.

We’d hoped to release the infantry Support Weapons variant at the same time, but we’ve just not been able to get it through the mould making cycle in time.
Igor has however been working on the next version of Command Horizon rules and these will be the priority once Salute is out of the way. The aim is to have them ready for download by the middle of May.
We’ve been looking at the next set of Alien releases and just to get you in the right frame of mind here’s a couple of preview shots of what to expect when the Worms begin to roll out in the Summer…

If you’re going to Salute this time round, please call in and have a look.

Welcome to 2008!
I thought it was time to let you know what will be happening with the Command Horizon ranges this year. Firstly, there is a new release. The first of the accessory packs for the Human Skim and Aerospace fighters is now available enabling you to add extra armament to your models. Igor’s already equipped a couple of units with them:

You can find more details in the Human models listing.
The New Year seems to have kicked in several dormant circuits in Igor’s brain as he had been tied to his keyboard feverishly working away on updating the Command Horizon rules and a new version is not far away now.
This year we will continue to expand both the Human and the Centaur ranges. Both will get more infantry variants, combat engineers and Aerospace craft. There are also some very nice larger models for both races on the design bench so be prepared for some spectacular additions later in the year. 2008 will also see us add the third race to the range. For all you fans of things that slither, the Worms are coming…
We’ll be attending both the Vapnartak show in York on February 3rd and the Hammerhead SF and Fantasy show in Newark on February 10th. If you want to place any pre-orders, please do get in touch. If you want to ask any more questions about what we’ve got planned, come and have a chat.

Just a few days to go to Christmas, but we are still keeping very busy here at Baccus HQ with last minute orders for presents popping up all the time. It seems that to a select part of the Wargaming world, Baccus armies are this year’s ‘in’ presents. We’ll be finishing for the holidays on Friday 22nd December and back to spinning moulds on Wednesday 2nd January 2008. While we won’t be around to answer the phone, the shopping cart will be operating over the entire holiday period so you can be first in the queue for 2008.
To round off I would like to thank you all for your custom, your input, your phone calls, your emails, your ideas and your company over the last 12 months. It can be hard work running a small business, and the hours are long for little return, but you cannot put a price on the enjoyment that I get in dealing with such a nice group of people.
From Igor and myself,
HAVE A GREAT CHRISTMAS AND A WONDERFUL NEW YEAR!
